"The earth is the Lord's, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it." (Psalm 24.1)
I've been hearing a lot about Earth Day and being green this week. While I agree with many of the things they (environmentalists) are encouraging (planting trees, keeping the open spaces in our county, turning lights off, driving less, recycle, reduce, reuse, ...) they are doing it for the wrong reasons. They are worshipping the creation instead of the Creator. We ourselves were created by God and given the responsibility to care for the earth, but it's actually in His hands (Genesis 1:26-28).
Here's what the Answers in Genesis website has to say about Earth Day and here's a good blog post from last year's Earth Day with a Christian perspective.
Now, go recycle something! My recycling is sitting out by the curb right now.
