And are our girls excited! L's last day was Thursday and J's was Friday. The 8th graders were a little teary-eyed when it hit them that they wouldn't be in the same class together next year. One bad thing about private middle school -- they'll all be going to different high schools. :-(
After work yesterday I helped decorate for grad night. We're working together with 4 other high schools in the area. Each school decorates a different area, then their kids get to use the whole building after graduation. It'll be used five times this week. L's school is first on Monday. The whole building has a cruise ship theme. We decorated the formal dining area and bathrooms. Yes, even the bathrooms are decorated. The boys bathroom in the main area looks like an engine room -- filled with gauges, etc. There's also a spa, theater, dance floor, top deck (for Titanic-like photos, I'm sure), casino, and other show and game areas. There will also be bounce houses & slides outside and they can use the bowling alley next door. The party's from 11 pm to 5 am. I would much rather set up than stay up all night & try to make it to another graduation the next day.
J's class divided up their school year and each student took a week to show appreciation to their teachers. We had the last week of school so here are some of the things we made and sent for her teachers:
