Design Team Member - Kath

Time for another Duct Tape And Denim design team member.  This time it's Kath of Out on a Whim Studio.  She used my Loving Couples Collage Sheet  (still just $1.00!), Love in Many Languages, Vintage Butterflies, papers from my 100+ Vintage Paper Pack, & other goodies.  Y'all know I love tags, and Kath's are great!  
I love these old wedding pictures from my collection.  I think I bought them in Pleasanton last summer.

I love that little touch of black behind the photos.

Our Latest Home Project & The Next DTDDT Member

I'm not sure exactly how this project came about.  I told Glenn I'd like a pegboard in our storage shed so I could find things easier.  He bought one & brought it home.  Somehow it ended up upstairs & Jo & Glenn came up with this.  Then they went to our favorite thrift store and got some record albums.It's starting to look like a music room.  We even used the record sleeves as frames.  I love how the photographer posed the girls.  It's such a "little girl" pose and it was last year!

And now, for my next Duct Tape and Denim Design Team member... my own daughter, Jordann.  She has a completely different style than my other members and used some different techniques.  She painted acrylic paint on an 8.5 x 11 piece of canvas paper, then tore the pages from my vintage paper pack and painted them with watercolors.
She used several of my vintage paper shapes in her design, too -- the 3" scalloped circle, butterflies, birds, Love in Many Languages, and some others I don't have listed yet.

Another Design Team Member & What Happened on my Patio today

I've been receiving more photos from my design team.  Today's member is Tam from Barker Bell Herbs & Heirlooms.  She used the same design elements as all the team members had:  vintage pages from my paper pack, Words of Love & Love in Many Languages word circles, the Loving Couple collage sheet, my butterflies from vintage papers, blank tickets, and I also threw in an envelope, lace, and other vintage paper shapes.
She even used some of the crepe paper I wrapped the items in for this cute collage!

On another subject, my sister's blog inspired me to work outside today.  Her garden's going to be HUGE!  We just have a patio, but we had ginormous tomato plants last year.  I told my neighbor this morning I was planting more tomatoes and she asked if we were going to have monster tomato plants again.  I don't know.  I still don't know what I did different.

We are making some changes this year.  Last year everything was in containers.  Jordi wanted to tear up all the bricks but Glenn was afraid that would be too much, so we started with an edge.  The jasmine went into the ground in the corner.  Three tomato plants went in the other elevated area - Celebrity, Sweet 100, & a Yellow Pear.  I think they're planted too close together but I'm going to try to keep them a little more in control than last year.  lol....   Jordi saw some strawberry plants so we go those.  Haven't tried them since we lived in Illinois.  Then she scattered sweet alyssum seeds around the edges.  The one that's there in the front has been there since last year.  It grew from a seed that fell from a container plant.  The pots on the right end are mint and rosemary.  I use rosemary all the time when I cook.  Love it with roasted potatoes & chicken!  I don't use the mint but really like how it smells.  We planted lettuce in the pot to the left.  
That's all we did today.  The other side of the patio is still a mess.  But I'm really sore now so that'll have to wait.  Maybe we'll have another nice day next weekend.  

2009 Design Team!

I'm getting excited as I'm seeing what my new design team is coming up with!  I love to see how different the projects are when different people are given the same supplies.  Today's featured team member is Tracy.  You can read more about her on her website.  Her first project is an ATC card called "Promise."  And I love this vintage-style bracelet!
Tracy used my Loving Couple collage sheet for all three of her projects.  I've just recently started creating & selling collage sheets in my Etsy shop.  They come as a pdf that you can print off as many times as you want to use in your projects.  You may give or sell projects using these images.    So far I've made several different sheets and they're still at their introductory price of $1.00 each!  I'm going to keep that price at least through the end of February.  
Tracy's third project is a clock called "Memories."  She also used some of the vintage page shapes I sell, including my bird/dove, which has been very popular.  If you like these completed items, Tracy is selling them in her Etsy shop.   Tell her I sent you!

Introducing My Design Team

I've thought about this for a while & finally did it -- I started a design team.  I have 6 people on my design team right now.  Every other month I'm going to send them a package of supplies from my Etsy shop and let them create whatever they want with them.  I'll post photos & links to their blogs/shops here so you can go learn more about them.  Hopefully, this will inspire the creativity in all of us!   

My first DT member is Kath from Out On A Whim Studio.  She used images from my Vintage Valentine Postcard Collage Sheet.  These are on sale this week for only $1.00 in my Etsy shop.

She filled these boxes with crafting supplies and listed them in her Etsy shop.  Actually, she has FOUR Etsy shops.  I don't know how she does it!  So, if you like shabby chic, primitives, or a more retro look, Kath has an Etsy shop for you!

Hopefully soon you'll meet the other members of my design team.  They're not all professional artists like Kath.  We'll have a couple of other ladies with Etsy shops, a college student, high school student's art class projects, and a young mom & maybe even her toddlers!  :-)  So you'll get a wide variety of styles.  If you're on the team, I'm mailing out the packages in the next couple of days so look for them next week!
