You Are Beautiful

I haven't mentioned much about the Scripture and prayer challenges lately.  Actually, I've been very good about doing the study part but haven't kept up with the craft part as well.  I think I've done 3 of them so far.  So I thought I'd use this as a chance to practice some of the things I've been reading about Photoshop.  Here's my first try at blending a photo into a textured background.  Still a little rough, but it was fun making it.  This is from the fourth week of My Prayers for You - Scriptures we can pray for our children... or grandchildren, nieces & nephews, friends, etc.  

Scripture:  "Your adornment must not be merely external - braiding the hair, & wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God."  I Peter 3:3-4 NASB

Prayer:  God, help my daughters see that true beauty is not what the world may tell them in magazines & movies, but the inner beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit is precious in the sight of God.  And help me to model this behavior for them.  Amen.

My Prayers for You Project

I think I mentioned this project to some of you and that I didn't know if I would have time to do it or not.  I decided that praying for my children is still important enough that I need to make the time to do this and encourage others to do it, too.  Like my other projects I'm going to keep it simple and not worry about how it looks to others.  You can read more about the project here.  Every couple of weeks this blog is going to post a Scripture you can use to pray for your children.  Each mom's project is a little different -- I saw some that looked like scrapbooks, one that was on a rolodex, homemade books, giant deck of cards, etc.  I'm making mine out of regular Poker size cards on a ring so I can carry it in my purse or the front pocket of my Bible cover.

Ummmmm... I noticed after I uploaded the photos that I wrote Lev. 2:19.  The verse is actually Lamentations 2:19.  Can I blame that on the cold meds?  

Can I encourage all the moms that read this blog to join me in this project?  Even if you just write the verses on an index card.  Anything that would remind you to pray.  OK -- keep me accountable to this.  If you don't see a new card for a few weeks ask me where it is.
