Anyway, I bought this pin Sunday along with the box of sewing goodies in my previous post. And look at the table runner under it. I bought that at my favorite thrift store last week... I think for 50c. (Much better than the antique show prices!) This would be really simple to make. It's just a piece of linen with bias tape sewn on with a decorative stitch. I loved the turquoise/brown color combination.

I did something today that I haven't done in a LONG time! Went to an antique show. And by myself. I only had an hour, so that was probably a good thing. But, hey Angie, we need to plan a whole afternoon next time. It was the Shadelands Ranch Antique Show. I first saw it this morning on the way to church but didn't get to it 'til this afternoon when I dropped off Lauren at a friend's grad party.

I realized how spoiled I've gotten by shopping at garage sales. Saw a lot of similar things today but since they were "antiques" they cost more. So I didn't spend much. But it was nice having all those vendors in the same place. Here's my big find. A little suitcase full of vintage sewing goodies. Those in the photo are just a few of them. I think I'll add some of these to the wallpaper collage packs I'm getting ready for Etsy.

So the party that Lauren went to had an 80s theme. Here's how she looked.

Patchwork & Embroidery

I found this at a thrift store a few weeks ago. It kind of looks like a book cover. It has pockets - large & some pen-sized on the other side. I forgot to take a picture of it. I think I'm going to sew up the sides and make a bag out of it. SE, can you see the tiny bit of Strawberry Shortcake fabric? I like the neon floral! Lauren made a patchwork tote bag last week. She hasn't stood still long enough for meto take a picture of it yet.

Saturday I rode with Lauren over the hill to Pittsburg (CA, not PA). On the way we saw a garage sale. She was late and couldn't stop so I stopped on the way home. Here are a couple of pillowcases I bought.

The pillowcases reminded me of an apron I bought last year. Here's a close up of the embroidery on it.

Super Monday!

This first picture is for Grandpa, who wanted to see the clematis with more blooms. Every morning when I look out it seems like there are more blooms... and there are still lots more buds!

Look what I found at the thrift store this morning! The top 3 fabrics still had the original price tags on them from Woolworth's -- 3 yds at $1.17 a yard. 50/50 cotton/poly. The blue/green fabric is a queen sized sheet. Wonder if Glenn would notice if I put it on the bed tonight! :-)

The flash cards are going in my Etsy store. I'm thinking about making some book totes with the fabrics. Any other ideas?

And don't you just love it when you find exactly what you're looking for? I was needing a pair of pinking shears. Even had some marked on eBay to watch. Found a pair at the same thrift store for $8.00!
