I'm Thankful for...

Daughters!  We've had a busy few days and spent a lot of time with some different Mom/Daughter combinations.

Sunday afternoon Jo & I went to JoAnn's with Karen and one of her daughters.  She got away from the house with just one... she has four kids so it was a special time for just the two of them.  We looked for fabric for skirts for the Christmas program.  It has to be ankle length and I bought fabric for mine for only $6!  Now I just have to make it.  Then we sat at Starbucks and looked at some craft magazines we bought.  It was a nice time.  The picture is from their dinner table last year at Thanksgiving.

Yesterday we all had the day off so Jo & I went with Glenn to Healdsburg.  While he rode his bike we did a little antiquing & other shopping.  Found some fun stuff!  Then we had lunch & went to a candy store.  Think Willie Wonka!!!  Healdsburg is north of Napa so we saw a lot of grape vines on the way home.
I was reading the November issue of Better Homes & Gardens on the way home and saw a recipe for roasted cranberry chicken.  It was really just roasted chicken with a cranberry sauce - 1 1/2 c fresh cranberries, 1 1/2 c cranberry juice, some brown sugar & thyme, and a little salt.  We stopped at a Super Wal-Mart on the way home to get the ingredients - haven't been there in a LONG time!

Glenn needed to meet with Gary to talk about staging for the Christmas music so we invited them over for dinner (along with THEIR daughter).  Angie's plate looked very nice so we took a picture for Matt.  Matt, it was easy & good - you should make it for your friends!  Tonight I shredded the leftover chicken and mixed in some of the cranberry sauce & BBQ sauce and put it on top of baked potatoes.  I think it was even better than last night!

I called another friend tonight who is in the hospital with her daughter.  She was having a tube put in tonight so she'd get some nutrition.  She still hasn't been able to eat & isn't gaining any weight.  Please pray for Rachel & her family.  She's been in a week and can't come home 'til she gains weight.  And the doctors still don't know what's wrong with her.

So, I'm thankful today for my daughters.  And my friends and their daughters and the time we all get to spend together.  BTW, if I had sons I'd be thankful for them, too.  :-)
