Glenn had the day off yesterday so we went hiking. I've been wanting to go on a long hike about once a week. So we started at Mitchell Canyon and took off up the mountain on the trail that Glenn mountain bikes on with Doc. It takes a lot longer walking! He didn't realize that the round trip would be over 7 miles! We hiked up to 2200'.
There's a picnic area at the top -- actually, we didn't walk all the way to the top. This trail goes all the way up to the peak of Mt. Diablo. We stopped at a place called Deer Flat. There were about 8 other people having lunch there, too.
All morning we had been seeing old bombers flying by. I think there must have been an air show somewhere around the bay. When we got up here I saw a plane going by & we were higher than it was! Needless to say, I'm sore today.
