It's time for my annual "don't-start-celebrating-Christmas-before-you-celebrate-Thanksgiving" speech! Yes, Christmas decorations are out in the stores everywhere and a coworker today told me that she heard Christmas music playing in the grocery store this weekend. Give me a break! I love Christmas, but not the materialism that is the only reason the stores start the Christmas season so early.
Last year there were several blogs that posted something they were thankful for every day in November. I'm a couple of days late already and I may not post EVERY day in the month, but I'll try to.
So, starting today... I'm thankful for RAIN!!! We've gone about 6 months without rain, which is normal for our area in California. But Friday it started raining and it's rained a little every day since. Jordi came home from school today and started baking... rain does that to us. Won't be long 'til the hills are green again. Yay!
If you'd like a resource that would help you & your family focus on giving thanks, I put together a book called Give Thanks a few years ago. Each day has a Scripture and a poem or story. There are also Thanksgiving hymns, prayers, and speeches throughout the month. I lowered the price down to $4.00 for this month, too!
If you're focusing on giving thanks this month, too, leave a comment with your blog url and I'll mention your blog here. I also have a few Thanksgiving crafts I'll be sharing this month, too. (One just for David -- and it'll be in the mail to you soon!)
