Now we can talk about Christmas!

If you've been reading my blog you know that I'm kind of a Grinch about Christmas before Thanksgiving. I don't want to see any decorations, hear any Christmas music, etc. I want to celebrate Thanksgiving first. Well, we did have to make a few exceptions: 1.) Lauren has been practicing Christmas carols on the piano since she thought she was going to be playing for a party next week, 2.) been practicing the choir musical for weeks now, 3.) I started a few craft projects -- especially since everyone is getting handmade gifts this year, and 4.) ran across a great sale on Christmas trees and bought one (but kept it in my car 'til the day after Thanksgiving). But NOW we can talk about Christmas. We pulled all the decorations out of the attic this weekend and put up the tree. That's early for us... we usually do it on Glenn's birthday. Jo found the Christmas movies and we had It's a Wonderful Life playing while we decorated the tree and White Christmas on last night. I'd really like to get a DVD of all the TV specials we grew up with -- Rudolf, Frosty, Here Comes Santa Claus, etc. Those bring back fun memories!

I'm working on a lot of projects right now but most of them are gifts and many of the recipients read my blog so I don't want to show too much. Some are turning out so cute that I may upload photos anyway! Here's something I made and already listed on eBay. You can see photos of all the pages here.

Don't forget to get your cookie recipes ready for the Virtual Cookie Exchange -- starting Tuesday!

NOTE:  Several have asked where I got the illustrations I used in this album.  They came from a book of Christmas carols published in the 1960s.  I think I remember seeing it when I was little... we may even still have it somewhere.  But I found this one at a thrift store.

Hi Ann! That Christmas album is adorable! It makes me want to drag out all my scrapbooking stuff. :) Like you, I'm up to my eyeballs in gift making. :)

You left me a comment about looking for the candy corn treat bag and tea cup potholder patterns. I made them up but would be happy to share how I did them if you'd like to drop me a line. My email should be attached.

Hugs
