Patchwork & Embroidery

I found this at a thrift store a few weeks ago. It kind of looks like a book cover. It has pockets - large & some pen-sized on the other side. I forgot to take a picture of it. I think I'm going to sew up the sides and make a bag out of it. SE, can you see the tiny bit of Strawberry Shortcake fabric? I like the neon floral! Lauren made a patchwork tote bag last week. She hasn't stood still long enough for meto take a picture of it yet.

Saturday I rode with Lauren over the hill to Pittsburg (CA, not PA). On the way we saw a garage sale. She was late and couldn't stop so I stopped on the way home. Here are a couple of pillowcases I bought.

The pillowcases reminded me of an apron I bought last year. Here's a close up of the embroidery on it.

Thanks so much for the link. I've done the same with yours on my blog.
I love those pillow cases. My Mum gave me some similar and some table cloths a while back. I love that style embroidery and wish I had the time and patienace to do it myself.

Hey, a lady at Sew 'n Sews (quilt club) made a whole quilt out of her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother's emproided pillow cases - it was so-o-o-o-o beautiful!! Even a wall hanging would be neat!
