We left Walnut Creek, CA, last Sunday right after the music of the morning worship service. It was cold and rainy with snow on Mount Diablo!
The lower hills didn't have any snow. They were bright green!
We drove down Highway 5. After driving for a few hours we heard reports that CHP were escorting drivers through the Grapevine pass just north of LA. We thought about going another way but decided to stick to our original plans. By the time we got there it wasn't snowing as heavily. I didn't realize it snowed so close to LA.
Here we are in the middle of nowhere -- Arizona or New Mexico -- I can't remember.
Another picture in the middle of nowhere. See the moon?
Yes, we were bored...
Finally we arrived in Texas! Our trip was 1772 miles and took 2 1/2 days. We were glad the kids weren't with us AND that we were flying back. It only took 4 1/2 hours to fly back and that included a side trip to Salt Lake City. We thank God for airplanes!
